The treatment carried out for internal hemorrhoids are as follows:
Rubber Band Ligation – is a non-surgical procedure wherein the circulation of the blood in the hemorrhoids is decreased by tying a rubber band over the inflamed hemorrhoids. This treatment is normally executed in the outpatient section for treating 2nd degree internal hemorrhoids.
Injection Sclerotherapy – is a medical process where the surgeon injects a chemical solution into the mucous membrane in the vicinity of the hemorrhoid. This chemical facilitates veins inflammation and closure and this shrinks the hemorrhoid.
Infrared Photocoagulation – This is used to treat hemorrhoids of small/medium size. Infrared heat is applied on the hemorrhoids by the doctor with an IR device that coagulates the dilated veins of the hemorrhoids. The coagulated blood vessels cuts off the blood flow and the hemorrhoids die.
Laser Coagulation – This is a relatively new technique wherein electric current is passed through the hemorrhoid. This new technique results in stopping the blood supply to the hemorrhoids which in turn causes the hemorrhoids to shrink.
Hemorrhoidectomy – a surgical procedure. The hemorrhoid groups in the anal canal are surgically removed using a laser, scalpel or cautery device.
The above are just some ways to treat Hemorrhoids. Seek professional advice if you are going ahead with any of the above.
